The HERDMAN name is a relatively rare one but there are seven family groups in New Zealand with the name. This blog will aim to provide some information on each of the family groupings, as I have researched them all for over 40 years now. Naturally I know more about my own HERDMAN family, who originated from Northern England, just south of the Scottish border. Another group came from Worcestershire, England and all the other groups came from Scotland.
